iSelect Titans prop Matthew White has been rewarded for his strong form in 2014 with a new two-year contract.
White, 30, from Armidale in northern NSW, is in his 10th season in the NRL after making his debut for the Knights in 2005 and has been a consistent performer in John Cartwright’s hard-working pack.
His non-nonsense approach to his work and his inspirational comeback after missing all of 2013 with an ACL injury has seen him establish himself as one of the most respected members of the Titans squad.
“As a young player my dream was to play in the NRL like many kids and this contract will bring me to the 12 years as an NRL player which I’m proud of coming, particularly coming from the bush, and also feel very fortunate,” he said.
“I’ve had six years at the Titans now and love playing here; I have a great relationship with the coaching staff and the other boys and want to do my bit to bring the club success.
“It’s a relief after coming off the knee reconstruction to now have my future settled but I know I have to keep performing to stay in the side with a lot of depth in the front row.”
White is just three games away from recording 100 matches for the Titans after playing 28 NRL matches for the Knights.
