The iSelect Titans have re-signed back-rower Tom Kingston who achieved his long-awaited NRL debut in 2014 and halfback Kane Elgey who this year made the Holden Cup team of the year in his last season of under-20s.
Kingston, 25, and Elgey, 20 – both local products – have signed one-year deals.
“Initially I felt I’d accomplished my goal of playing in the NRL after trying for so long and that’s but once I had a few games I just want to play more now,” Tweed Heads Seagulls product Kingston, who played six NRL matches this season, said of his breakthrough season.
“I’m really thankful that the club has shown faith in me and given me another opportunity and I want to make the most of it and work as hard as I can on my game and continue to improve.”
Elgey, a former Australian Schoolboys representative and Tugun Seahawks junior, starred for the young Titans in his second season of Holden Cup and has been rewarded with an opportunity to train and develop with the NRL squad in the off-season, adding depth to the club’s halves.
