The iSelect Gold Coast Titans have added Brisbane Broncos prop David Hala and Northern Pride utility player Davin Crampton to their 2015 playing roster.
The news follows that of Broncos utility back and current New Zealand squad member Josh Hoffman agreeing to join the club for three years.
Hala is a rampaging 115kg front-rower who has played 39 NRL games for the Broncos since making his debut in 2009. He has agreed to join the club for two years.
The 25-year-old, who played seven matches off the bench for the Broncos in 2014 and for Redcliffe Dolphins in the Intrust Super Cup, says he is looking forward the opportunity to establish himself as an NRL force after being granted a release by the Broncos.
“I’m really looking forward to a new opportunity to establish myself with the Titans with some senior players leaving and I feel I can step up and prove myself,” said Hala, who played every match in 2014 after shoulder and knee injuries had inconvenienced him in previous seasons.
“I had an injury free season and will be able to have my first full pre-season since 2009, which has done wonders for my confidence.”
Crampton, 26, who is on a one-year deal, played in the Northern Pride side that won the Queensland Intrust Super Cup and the first interstate championship against Penrith’s NSW Cup team.
He has played most of his career as a centre but was in dynamic form in the second half of 2014 as an interchange forward.
The Pride is a feeder team for the North Queensland Cowboys and Titans coach Neil Henry, Cowboys coach from 2009-13, is well aware of Crampton’s ability and eagerness to take advantage of his first full-time squad position.
Crampton hails from the town of Normanton on the Cape York Peninsula and is determined to make the most of his belated chance in the NRL.
