About the artist
Kieran Chilcott is an Aboriginal man from the Yugarabul people in the south-east.
Born in Tweed Heads and living the bulk of his life on the Gold Coast, Kieran is the CEO of Kalwun Development Corporation Ltd, an Aboriginal health and human services organisation.
Kieran is a proud husband and father of three daughters.
He developed a love for paint watching his nan paint on the loungeroom floor when he was a child.
Kieran enjoys painting dot art, the ocean, sea animals and local significant places in contemporary colours.
Kieran's design of the 2022 Indigenous jersey is a celebration of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander imprint at the Gold Coast Titans, spanning the past 15 years.
Kieran’s artwork has been shaped to represent a football stadium with the fans and communities represented in the yellow surrounding designs.
Within the stadium, the design showcases the five Indigenous captains, the 34 Indigenous players, the community connection, the NRLW team, and two generations of with Preston and Jayden Campbell depicted.
The turtle is a nod to the Torres Strait Islander players, the stingray is about the Gold Coast origins and the dolphin is a spiritual connection for many coastal Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
Gold Coast Titans proudly acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we are situated, the Kombumerri families of the Yugambeh Language Region. We pay our respects to their Elders past, present and emerging, and recognise their continuing connections to the lands, waters and their extended communities throughout South East Queensland.
