The iSelect Gold Coast Titans have confirmed the club's pre-season trial matches for 2014, kicking off with a full-scale hit-out against the Warriors in New Zealand in the build-up to the inaugural Auckland Nines in February.
The Titans will play the Warriors at North Harbour Stadium on Sunday, February 9 and will remain in camp in New Zealand the following week in the lead-up to the Auckland Nines from February 15-16.
The Titans will then return to Australia to play their final trial match against the North Queensland Cowboys in Toowoomba on Saturday, February 22 before the NRL competition commences from the first weekend in March.
The complete NRL draw will be released at 10am tomorrow, Wednesday, December 4.
The trial match against the Warriors will mark the third consecutive trial match between the two clubs after they met at Pizzey Park on the Gold Coast in February this year and also played at North Harbour Stadium in 2012.
A fortnight ago, the Titans confirmed they would bring top-flight rugby league back to Toowoomba for the first time in seven years, with the announcement of a pre-season trial match against the North Queensland Cowboys on Saturday, February 22, 2014.
In a new partnership with the Toowoomba Rugby League and the Toowoomba Clydesdales, the Titans have agreed to play their final hit-out of the pre-season at the Toowoomba Sports Ground as well as undertake community engagement activities in the region prior to the event.
The new partnership will also see the Titans provide education and welfare workshops for Toowoombas junior representative players as well as a formal link through the Titans Junior Pathways Program.
It is the first time an NRL sanctioned match will be played in Toowoomba since 2006 and is likely to see the return of hometown hero and Cowboys captain Johnathan Thurston, who grew up playing junior football for the Toowoomba All Whites club.
