It’s a day when current and future Titans mix, and boys and girls throughout the Gold Coast can gather and be recognised together as junior footballers no matter how old or good.
It will be the second Gold Coast Junior Rugby League Sign-On Carnival at Cbus Super Stadium, but it is much more than a registration day for the 13 local clubs.
From 9am to 2pm on Saturday, February 7 junior players from under 5 to under 17 can register with their clubs, play in a touch football competition, take part in coaching clinic, meet Titans players and enjoy a host of other activities.
The first sign on carnival was a huge success last year and the junior league expect 2015’s to be even bigger with over 1000 likely to attend.
If you child wants to play league for the first time or is returning for another season, February 7 is the day to sign-on.
“It’s a great day where juniors from all clubs and all parts of the Gold Coast can step foot on the stadium where the Titans play and some maybe dream of playing one day,” said Titans development manager Darren Robb.
“They can tour the dressing rooms, meet Titans players, get their face painted, enjoy colouring in and even design their own jerseys.
“There are over 5000 junior players on the Gold Coast and we’d like to get as many as we can there to sign up and just be part of a wonderful atmosphere.”
The day starts at 9am with some Titans appearing to meet the children before heading to Toowoomba where the Titans are playing the Warriors that night.
The Touch Football competitions will be conducted by South Queensland Touch Football in conjunction with the recent relationship formed between the NRL and Touch Football Australia.
The competition is open to Junior Rugby League clubs, Touch Football clubs and schools for under 10 and 12 age groups with a maximum of 12 players per team. Registration is $30 per team, with prizes for the winners.
To register your team, email: gary@goldcoastjuniorrugbyleague.com.au with team name, age group, contact name and number and email address. Registration closes on January 30.
