The Aquis Titans had good injury run over the first weekend of the NRL, NYC and Queensland Cup seasons with only Eddy Pettybourne suffering an injury that may keep him out of this weekend’s action.

Pettybourne lasted only 17 minutes after copping a corked thigh early in his stint from the interchange bench. He will undergo intense physiotherapy and rest the leg until late in the week when his fitness will be judged.

William Zillman did some light running ran on Monday with the rehab group and will look to run with the team on Thursday, and a call on his availability for Sunday’s clash with Melbourne will be assessed after that.

Nene Macdonald also was back doing some light running on Monday but has not been chosen in the preliminary NRL squad and will build up his workload as the week progresses.

Kierran Moseley got through 40 minutes of solid work, in two 20-minute stints, for Tweed Heads on the weekend and had no problems with his ankle and Ryan Simpkins, who had been sidelined since round eight last season after suffering an ACL injury, also got through the match unscathed.

CURRENT INJURED LIST:

Eddy Pettybourne (corked thigh): rd 2 or 3

Nene Macdonald (knee): Likely round 3

Karl Lawton (groin): round 3 or 4

Oshae Tuiasua (knee – rd 6)

Nathaniel Peteru (knee – rd 6)

Kane Elgey (knee – season).
