Gold Training under-20s coach Ben Woolf hopes to have skipper Jed Cartwright and Kurt Bernard back to face the Sea Eagles on Monday.

It is a crucial game for the Titans who are just out of the top eight and need to win at home against the last-placed Eagles.

Cartwright has had little luck this season, playing in nine of the 13 matches but failing to complete four others because of concussions or injuries.

“It would really lift us to have Jed there but we’ll monitor how his shoulder stands up during the week,” said coach Ben Woolf.

Junior Kiwi prop Bernard had a lower back problem and missed the past two games and would boost the forward stocks.
