In our series where we give our members and fans a chance to get to know better our Gold Training under-20s, we talk to skipper Jed Cartwright.

"I'm really enjoying the captaincy and leading the boys around the park, it has given me a little bit of confidence and improved my game," he said.

He says the appointment was timely after he spent the first half of the off-season training with the NRL squad in which he learned a lot from the full-time professional players.

"When I came back I was a lot more confident and tried to teach the boys everything I learned from training with the first graders."

Jed returned from a month out with a shoulder injury on Monday against Manly and played stongly and is looking forward to getting a few successive games under his belt.

Away from footy, Jed is working as a teacher's aide with a couple of other Titans under-20s players.
