Aquis Gold Coast Titans new recruit Dan Sarginson will this weekend take to the field in the English Super League Grand Final when the Wigan Warriors take on the Warrington Wolves at Old Trafford in Manchester.
Sarginson was announced as a Titans recruit back in March with Titans fans keeping a close eye on the player who will be looking to slot into the backline in 2017. During the 2016 season, Sarginson has moved between centre and fullback, playing 33 games across all competitions and scoring seven tries.
The last two weeks the 23-year-old has played in the fullback position and with both sides potentially having stars return from injury, Sean O’Loughlin (Wigan) and Chris Sandow (Warrington), it’s sure to be an enthralling encounter.
After the semi-final win Wigan Coach Shaun Wane was full of praise for his troops.
“I’m full praise for the players, I’m really pleased for them and their families, for all of the fans that have stuck behind us and understood the position we’ve been in,” Wane said.
“We had our backs to the wall tonight. I can’t tell you how much pressure the players have been under, players haven’t trained but still turn up and put in a great performance like that. I can’t tell you how proud I am.”
The Warriors have beaten each of the top four in previous five weeks and showed incredible character to hit back and beat Hull.
“This is the fourth year (been in a Grand Final) but we’ve only got one ring. We’ll be in this week and we’ll work hard and train hard and be ready for next week.”
Titans members and fans that are keen to watch the match and see Sarginson in action can do so on FOX Sports 1 from 2.00am on Sunday morning (9 October).
