Gold Coast Titans captain Ryan James and NRL legend Kevin Walters came together today to launch FOX LEAGUE’s Retro Round for 2017.
This year’s Retro Round will remember a golden era of Rugby League, the 80s, with the theme brought to life on FOX LEAGUE, only on Foxtel, throughout the week and across Round 22.
To celebrate, FOX LEAGUE has partnered with the NRL and clubs to give Rugby League fans the chance to attend selected NRL games at reduced prices this weekend.
For a limited time only, fans will be able to purchase tickets to the Bulldogs v Eels, Knights v Warriors, Titans v Broncos, Sharks v Raiders and Sea Eagles v Roosters games at discounted prices.
Fans can redeem the ticket offer by logging onto nrl.com/tickets and entering the code word ‘retro’ before midnight tomorrow night (Wednesday August 2.)
Across the week FOX LEAGUE entertainment shows will celebrate our retro heroes with special guest appearances and will reflect on some of the game’s biggest moments and characters from the 80s.
Peter Sterling takes a trip down memory lane in an On the Couch with Sterlo special tonight (Tuesday 1 August), sitting down with Mal Meninga, Brad Clyde, Steve Roach and Benny Elias, to reflect on the unforgettable 1989 Grand Final.
Brisbane Broncos lock Josh McGuire joins the League Life panel tomorrow night (Wednesday 2 August), before legendary hooker Steve Walters joins Queenslanders Only to relive the glory days.
Then on Friday, Graeme Hughes returns to the commentary box alongside 80s legends Greg Alexander and Steve Roach to call the 6pm Dragons v Rabbitohs showdown, LIVE from the SCG.

FOX LEAGUE is also encouraging fans to don their best retro costume at NRL games this weekend, for the chance to win the Ultimate Dally M experience.
To win, fans need to snap a shot in their retro gear at any NRL game this weekend and upload it to social media using #RetroRound. The winner will be announced on Monday Night with Matty Johns next week (Monday 7 August).
