The TFH Gold Coast Titans have this morning joined forces with representatives from the Gold Coast and Group 18 Junior Rugby League to launch the 2018 ambassador program.
Registrations are now open to play junior league in 2018 and all local juniors are now encouraged to visit www.playnrl.com, find your local side and become a junior Titan this season.
Each of the Gold Coast and Group 18 clubs will this season have an NRL squad member as an official ambassador with each player to visit their allocated junior club at different times throughout the season.
With a number of local juniors returning ‘home’ for season 2018, the club now has 14 players as part of the NRL squad that played their junior football within the catchment area:
Jai Arrow, (Burleigh), Anthony Don (Grafton), Brendan Elliot (Runaway Bay), Kane Elgey (Tugun), Michael Gordon (Tweed Coast), Keegan Hipgrave (Nerang), Ryan James (Bilambil), Karl Lawton (Burleigh), Will Matthews (Kyogle), Kevin Proctor (Currumbin), Ryan Simpkins (Currumbin), Ash Taylor (Toowoomba), Jarrod Wallace (Runaway Bay) & Jai Whitbread (South Tweed)
Bilambil junior and forward Ryan James encourages all kids to get out there and have a go.
“It’s how we all started,” he said. “We all grew up playing junior footy with our mates and I have so many great memories from that time.
“Rugby league is for everyone, so find your local team, sign up and start your adventure to become a Titans player in the future.”
