With the June 30 deadline only days away, the merry-go-round of players switching clubs is continuing, right across the NRL.

The Titans are no exception, with two spots still to be filled by midnight Saturday.

Coach Garth Brennan has been very vocal about the difficulty in securing players from other clubs on short-term deals and is now leaning towards giving some younger squad members a contract upgrade for the remainder of 2018.

The Titans currently have 27 contracted players but do not need to replace Joe Greenwood, who recently departed the club to join Wigan Warriors in the English Super League.

Kiah Cooper and Tony Matautia are the two young men likely to be elevated into the top 30 after being part of the squad since last November.

"I've been made aware that (the NRL) are going to enforce it and make sure everyone has their 30 (players) come June 30," Brennan said.

"I'm thinking about rewarding some of these kids who have been here since November in Kiah Cooper and Matautia and maybe pushing them up into the top 30 and bringing in some young kids and getting them ready for next year as well."
