Coach Garth Brennan was as pleased as anyone yesterday when Anthony Don had agreed to terms with the club after months of negotiations.

Don, through his management, had fielded a number of offers from rival clubs but the lifestyle, family and sense of a bright future here at the Titans was convincing enough for him to remain a Titan.

The 30-year-old agreed to a two-year extension which will see him at the club until the end of 2020.

"I didn't want Donny going anywhere and I'm really glad to have got the deal done," Brennan said.

"Everyone loves 'The Don'.

"He's a really good story of someone who worked hard and I think a lot of people in general life can relate to that.

"It's a big coup for us. I think he can see a bright future and he's definitely going to be a part of that."

Brennan also stressed that it is important that his side back up their performance from last week, this Saturday against the Eels.

"It's important for us to back it up. That's the challenge for these young guys, to find some consistency.

"It was great to get a win against a top eight side last week but it'll be an even bigger achievement to back it up on the weekend."
