Fullback Michael Gordon has squashed rumours of him retiring from the game with it being the discussion amongst journalists yesterday at the TFH High Performance Centre.
It's that time of year when a lot of players announce their retirement at season's end and with two of his former team-mates, Chris Heighington and Luke Lewis, both declaring this would be their final year in the game, the same question was asked of the 34-year-old.
"That's the first I've heard of it," Gordon said. "I'm signed for next year so that's the plan at the moment.
"The body is fine so there's no issue there. I've always been confident in my ability and what I can produce.
"The playing part isn't hard, it's the week to week training that gets harder as you get older."
Asked whether he could go on beyond 2019, the Tweed Coast Raider junior admitted he had a promise he needed to honour.
"I've got a commitment to the Tweed Coast Raiders so I'm going to honour that."
