Titans TV caught up with winger Phillip Sami to talk about 'that try'.

Sami bagged a double during Sunday's victory over the Warriors but it was his first of the afternoon that had members and fans rising from their seats.

We'll let Sami tell the story from here.

"It was great lead-up from Ryan James and Michael Gordon," Sami said. "I just did my best to get past him.

"I didn't really think about it too much, I just wanted to beat him.

"We do a little bit of that work before every session, before we get into contact. I was lucky enough that one of them came off on the weekend."

Sami is fast approaching an end to his first full season of NRL football and admits it has been taxing on the mind and body.

"My main goal was to play consistent footy. It's my first time playing week in, week out and unfortunately I missed that one week with a calf injury.

"It's pretty tough playing a whole season, especially now as we come close to the end."

The Goodnah junior has enjoyed the last couple of weeks with good mate Konrad Hurrell playing beside him and playing some good football.

"Koni agrees that this hasn't been his best season. He is obviously a big figure in the game off the field but he's now doing some good things on the field as well."
