The Titans of the future were celebrated on Saturday by the Gold Coast greats of the past.
Escorting the Titans onto the field against Manly at Cbus Super Stadium were 13 local juniors chosen as “Heroes” by the Gold Coast Old Boys for displaying the Titans’ RAPT values of being Resilient, Accountable, Proud and Trustworthy by representing their clubs and the game in the right spirit.
Each of the 13 players were presented with special jerseys to acknowledge their efforts in playing the game in the right spirit.
The jerseys were a significant representation of what the Titans are about – the players of the future, wearing the current team’s colours, with the logos of all four Gold Coast franchises – the Giants, Seagulls, Chargers and Titans – on the front to acknowledge the past.
The junior Heroes then escorted the Titans onto the field through a guard of honour created by the battalion of former players who were there to celebrate Old Boys Day.
While the result on the field was not as the Titans had hoped, it was still a tremendous day for the club to see so many players from Gold Coast’s rugby league history coming together with the region’s future stars to support the club and celebrate their part within it.
