Mitch Rein is ready to grab his opportunity at hooker with both hands when he takes on the Dragons in Sydney.
Rein is a Dragons junior and played six seasons in the top grade there before making his way to the Titans in 2018 via Penrith.
Rein says he’s excited about returning to his old stomping ground against his former club.
“It’s been a while since I’ve played there now, so I’ve kind of moved on, but it always good playing against your old team," he said. " I love playing down there and can’t wait to get back out at Jubilee and hopefully get the win.
“It’s an awesome ground and the fans are always really vocal and they’re super passionate, I’m just looking forward to getting out there and having a good game for the boys.”
The hooker has performed well in his 14 appearances for the club so far this season and is eager to continue that form.
Rein says he’s been training the house down while waiting for his next opportunity.
“You always want to be playing first grade, but sometimes you can’t and that’s just how it is and that’s just part of footy," he said. "Those things are out of my control. You can control everything else you do.
“I feel like I’ve been training really well and doing everything I can to be ready. That’s something I can control, and I feel like I’ve been doing a pretty good job of putting everything in on the training paddock.”
Mitch says he knows the Dragons will be as desperate for a win as the Titans are, and is keen to help turn the team’s form around.
“We’re all pretty excited and we haven’t gone too well over the last couple of weeks so everyone’s keen to make amends,” he said.
