The Gold Coast Titans have learned who they will face in the inaugural Perth NRL Nines, after today’s live and random draw of the tournament’s four pools for the men’s tournament.
The Nines, returning the NRL’s calendar on February 14-15 next year, will be held at Perth’s HBF Park.
Fun is the focus of the two-day tournament, with supporters encouraged to dress extravagantly and join in the party while enjoying some high-octane rugby league.
All 16 NRL clubs and four NRLW sides will compete in the revamped concept.
The tournament will give Titans Members and fans the opportunity to see the new-look side in action under the guidance of Head Coach Justin Holbrook, with the Nines acting as an entrée to the main course of the 2020 NRL season proper which gets underway in March.
The Nines draw took place today in Perth, with the Titans placed in Pool 3 alongside the Raiders, Tigers and Rabbitohs.
Holbrook’s side will face the Raiders in their first match on the Friday with kick-off at 6:10pm (local time).
The second match will take place on Saturday at 1:20pm against the Tigers.
At the end of all pool matches, the top two teams from each pool will advance to the Quarter-Finals, with the winners to then meet in the Semi-Final, before progressing to the Grand Final.
