The Gold Coast Titans have added a fifth player to their 2020 Development Squad list, with prop Jaimin Jolliffe signing a one-year deal with the Club.
Jolliffe joined the Titans on a train-and-trial offer at the back end of 2019, and after impressive trial form, the 23-year-old has been rewarded with the opportunity to continue training full-time.
The Wagga Wagga product has spent the past three seasons at the Newtown Jets, and was part of the State Championship winning side of 2019.
Jolliffe said he was nervous ahead of the move north late last year but believes has found a new home on the Gold Coast.
“It’s an opportunity to train full-time and improve my game week to week,” Jolliffe said.
“It was a bit of a challenge coming up here, but it’s been rewarding.
“I came up here and worked hard, it’s good. Justin (Holbrook) always said that if I worked hard I’d be rewarded, so this is a step in the right direction.
“I really want to come to work each day and continue learning. It’s been a great pre-season and I’m looking forward to playing some games.
“It’s a path to hopefully earning an NRL debut, which is the ultimate goal.”
Jolliffe will be aligned with Burleigh Bears in the Intrust Super Cup competition, joining an already formidable forward pack that includes former NRL players Luke Page, Jack Buchanan and Jack Stockwell.
“Burleigh are a quality side, so to be able to go and play alongside some of those guys will be great,” Jolliffe said.
“They’ve had a pretty successful past, and showed their class in the trial match the other week.”
