Patience key for Boyd as he eyes key positions

The question Tanah Boyd gets asked the most is what position do you want to play - in the halves or at hooker?

The 20-year-old played 13 games in 2020, 12 of those off the interchange bench and one as the starting five-eighth.

"I'm training at half, but if I have to play at hooker I will again," Boyd said.

"It's a goal of mine to eventually play in the halves but I'm not too worried, I just want to get better each day and to improve and that's what I'm concentrating on."

Jamal Fogarty and Ash Taylor built a strong combination in the six and seven jerseys last season and are expected to develop their partnership in 2021.

Boyd says he's willing to wait for his chance.

"I love my footy and I love watching footy," he said.

"I am pretty patient.

"I love this Club and I love the people in this Club, so I'm definitely willing to be patient and bide my time.

"I know personally I've got a lot to work on and I feel like I'm improving and getting better and when the opportunity comes I will take it with both hands."

The Titans will play the New Zealand Warriors at Lismore's Oakes Oval on Saturday 27th February, with Boyd targeting the trials as a chance to further show his skills.

"I know we've got the Burleigh trial before (Lismore) and I'm hopefully playing in that as well.

"The more game time I can get to present myself the better and if I get a crack in the Warriors trial as well that will be good and I'll present myself more."
