Origin middle men to match up on Sunday

On Sunday they will wear blue and maroon and a week later they will swap colours in the Origin arena.

Tino Fa'asuamaleaui and Jake Trbojevic are our Macca's Matchup ahead of the Titans clash with Manly at Cbus Super Stadium on Sunday.

With Origin game two just around the corner, both will be looking for strong performances for their respective clubs.

On paper, there's not much splitting the two middle forwards.

Both will line up in the lock forward position and their individual performance could have a major say on the result of the game.

In 11 games this season, Fa'asuamaleaui (197 cm, 107kg) has averaged 139 run metres.

Trbojevic is slightly down on this number (averaging 125 run metres), but he does lead in the tackle stats (Trbojevic averaging 37 per game, Fa'asuamaleaui 33).

With ball in hand, the stats show that Tino has been more dangerous.

The big Titan has 31 tackle breaks, 8 offloads and 2 tries for his efforts, while in comparison Trbojevic sits on 5 tackle breaks, 0 offloads and 1 try.

If these two aren't the most important players for their club, they're definitely in the conversation - because when Tino or Jake play well, chances are their team follows suit.

Head to head it's Fa'asuamaleaui against Trbojevic and it's one of the most mouth watering Macca's Matchups so far this season.
