Jolliffe enjoying role, but wants wins

Titans front rower Jaimin Jolliffe has been one of the clubs best players in recent weeks and is relishing his role in the side, but wants to turn those close ones into wins.

"I am loving my footy at the moment," Jolliffe told NRL Tonight on Fox League.

"The Gold Coast is a terrific club and we have great staff here.

"I am loving the football, but it would be a lot nicer if we could turn a few of those close losses into wins."

Jolliffe and the Titans have gone close against heavyweights Melbourne and the Roosters in recent weeks, but Jolliffe says they need to turn them into wins and he knows what the key is.

"Obviously the key is hard work," Jolliffe said.

"We are in a stage in our season now that we need to turn it around and we have acknowledged where we are at and what needs to change.

"We have trust in our coaches and the processes and that is important.

"We took a lot away from that one (the close loss against the Roosters)

"The last two games we have started really well but the points we have conceded have been pretty soft.

"It comes down to things like line speed and it all comes down to defence and defensive principles.

"I think we are improved over the last two games where we did take a leap forward, but I think if we can turn it around now we can string a few wins together."

Jolliffe has impressed whenever he has taken the field for the Titans, after starting the 2020 season on a trial and train contract he has cemented himself amongst the clubs mainstay forward rotation and he is enjoying working with some Queensland representative forwards also.

"At the moment I am enjoying my role for the team and I love taking the field with some of the guys like Moe (Fotuaika) and Tino (Fa'asuamaleaui) and Dave (Fifita)," Jolliffe said.

"They're Origin stars and they are such a big presence on the field.

"Moe is one of those players who is keen to turn our season around and we all saw how he played in State of Origin, he was probably the best Queensland forward.

"Obviously we would rather be winning a few more games but the vibe around training is great and I am enjoying my time at the club."
