Kevin Proctor talks to media ahead of Eels clash

"If we can play like we played against the Raiders and hopefully improve from that performance then hopefully we can go alright, but it is going to be a good test for us.

"We changed up a few things at training, especially defensively, and I think the boys have grown a another leg from that game.

"We were spewing that we had the bye because we felt we were kind of on a roll.

"The boys got a lot of confidence out of that (game against the Raiders), especially the younger guys.

"It was a plus for us, but you never want to see your teammate miss out on a game as big as Origin.

"It is a bonus for us because he will use that as motivation and funnel it against the Parramatta Eels and hopefully have a big game.

"We love (his aggression), we thrive off it and it is definitely something that he needs to keep in his game.

"I think that is our main focus all year.  We've been so up and down with our defence and it has been so inconsistent so we are trying to find that consistency with our defensive roles and we are working really hard at it and hopefully we keep it going against Parramatta.

"It is a huge game for us.

"We are glad we get to do it in front of our home fans on the Gold Coast and we are going to need every one of those fans to be cheering hard to hopefully get us over the line.

"We need to be doing a lot of things right to get the win for this game.

"We will just assess that after the game, but we are banking on them to play.

"He was outstanding in that game against the Raiders and he really makes a difference in our attacking line and he leads from the back and is vocal and he will be a massive plus if he plays.
