They may have lost their NRL-contracted players, but that hasn't stopped the Burleigh Bears and Tweed Seagulls march towards finals with both teams picking up key points to propel them up the ladder.

Burleigh win battle in the bush

For the first 20 minutes, the crowd was treated to a relatively dower defensive battle between the two. With just a penalty goal kicked by Jack Campagnolo in the sixth minute separating the two teams.

Right on 25 minutes, Burleigh's Andre Niko crashed over from out wide for a try which was not converted and the Bears were up 4 -2. Read full report.

“Our attack was very sharp generally which was pleasing. We wanted to go wide with early ball to Treymain and play more direct on the left and it worked well on the back of some strong running in the middle.”
