Turner already a good fit at Titans

Paul Turner is one of the fresh faces to join the Titans this pre-season.  The former Warrior has three NRL games to his name and is looking to add to his career tally with a Gold Coast debut in 2022.

Paul Turner: First Titans Interview

Tell us the Paul Turner story...

I'm from NZ, grew up in Whangarei and played most of my junior footy at the Hikurangi Stags which is a small place in Whangarei.

I started when I was five and I've loved it ever since.

You made your NRL debut with the Warriors, can you tell us about that experience?

It was always my dream to play for the Warriors club because I was raised in NZ and I fulfilled that and it's onto bigger things now.

You came to the Coast mid-year and you've had a little while here now, how are you finding it?

I'm loving it.  My brother is from here and he played for Tweed (Seagulls) and he is on a train and trial contract this year so yeah it is good to be back with him and training together.  Paul's brother is Lee Turner who plays in the centres.

You're a bit of a utility, is there a preferred position you like?

Yeah my preferred is number six and hopefully I can get that jersey this year.

You missed last year with injury, how is it coming along?

I did my shoulder in the middle of the year and it is going good.  It is just the little niggles that I'm trying to work on and they're getting better.  I'm not on the field yet, I'm still in the chamber at the moment.

When you do return to the paddock soon, what are you most looking forward to?

Just getting the combos and getting used to everyone in the team and just enjoying it.
