In a night where the emerging stars of the Titans squad showcased their talent, it was the experienced forwards who set the pace early.
Tasked with setting the tone in attack and defence, the experienced forwards of last night’s team led from the front and helped their team take control early in the first half.
Among them was Jaimin Jolliffe, who set up the Titans first try and ran for 73 metres off 9 runs.
In defense, the strong forward held his own with 13 tackles in his short stint on the field before being rested early in the second half.
Jolliffe was one of two people to play in every game of the 2021 season, the other being fellow front rower Jarrod Wallace.
With fierce competition for spots in the Titans pack this season, it was a solid first outing for both men as they present their case to coach Justin Holbrook.
Wallace was strong in his time on the field, taking 10 hit ups for 67 metres in the first half.
Happy with Wallace's first half efforts, Holbrook rested the experienced forward at the break, making way for the emerging Titans forwards to take the field.
