Brimson set to return for first Cbus outing

Great news Titans fans... AJ Brimson is back.

The star five-eighth is expected to return for the Gold Coast at Cbus Super Stadium this Saturday after missing the season opener due to failing to overcome a niggling groin injury that has troubled the Origin star.

Titans medical staff took a precautionary approach by opting to sit Brimson out of the Eels clash on Sunday to ensure he was 100 percent for the club's first home game against the Warriors.

"AJ continues to be monitored and his training modified, with the aim of having him train fully on Thursday and at Friday captain's run in readiness to play the Warriors at Cbus Super Stadium on Saturday," Titans head of performance Klint Hoare said.

Outside the normal bumps and bruises, no injuries were reported from the Round 1 outing against Parramatta other than Phillip Sami's head injury assessment - in which he was given the green light at half-time to come back on in the second 40 and claim a spectacular double, repaying coach Justin Holbrook who recalled the flyer after losing seven kilograms in the off-season.

Every player except for Corey Thompson (fractured hand) and Joe Vuna (ACL rehabilitation) will be available for selection in Round 2 against the Warriors.

Be there at Cbus Super Stadium on Saturday, March 19 for the Gold Coast Titans' first home game of the year. A double header with the NRL and NRLW Titans in action. $20 from every ticket goes directly to the club's flood recovery initiative.
