Steph Hancock has achieved plenty in her illustrious 20-year playing career, but she's not sure if anything can top being voted the most valuable player by the game's biggest lifeblood.
Pipping Destiny Brill and Evania Pelite for the prestigious gong voted by members of the Legion, the rugby league legend thought fans had seen enough of the barnstorming prop.... but that certainly wasn't the case.
"To be honest, being an old 40-year-old that's been around for decades, I would have thought people are probably a bit sick of seeing the old girl... but to win this award, it's honestly going to be one of my most memorable," Hancock said.
"It might seem a bit silly, but after 20 years of playing, to have the people that care about the game the most vote for you to win something like this; honestly, I'm very humbled and very grateful.
"I really honestly mean that I am genuinely honoured to win an award like this.
"Without our members, we'd be nothing."
The experienced prop's favourite game of the season is still the memorable win against the Broncos in the side's first ever home game at Cbus Super Stadium... a win that was spurred on by a vocal home crowd.
Hancock crashes over
"It means so much and you have to look at our very first home game as the inaugural Titans NRLW squad. To have a packed house and to have all of our members come support us at our home game and our very first one... that's what got us home, in my opinion," Hancock said.
"The last five minutes of that game, to see how packed it was and to be able to hear people cheering for us... it meant so much.
"I say hats off to the members."
With the 2022 season not too far away and it being a great chance to renew and / or sign-up as a Titans NRLW member ahead of kick-off, Hancock emphasised her thanks to the members for being the core lifeblood of the Gold Coast Titans.
"I just honestly want to say thank you to all the members," Hancock said.
"If we're not filling seats in the crowd or if we don't have people supporting us and following us on social media, there's no point in doing these kinds of things.
"I genuinely am grateful for all the members and all the support that we've had for year one of the women's Titans team, so thank you."
