A number of Gold Coast Titans stars returned from injury through the Hostplus Cup at the weekend, hoping to be available for selection for this Friday night's Round 8 showdown against the Penrith Panthers.
Jayden Campbell, Tanah Boyd and Sam McIntyre all played their first match since being on the sidelines over the last few weeks, with the trio in action for Tweed against the Blackhawks in Townsville.
Sadly, the Seagulls didn't return home with the two points, being outplayed 17-4.
It was a different story for the Titans' other feeder club Burleigh, who flexed their muscle with a dominant 34-0 win over Papua New Guinea to claim the Kokoda Cup at Pizzey Park.
A number of Gold Coast players donned Bears colours for the clash, including Alofiana Khan-Pereira, Esan Marsters, Tony Francis, Jacob Alick and Aaron Booth.
In the BMD Premiership, the Bears went down 40-26 to the North Queensland Gold Stars; meanwhile, Tweed failed to overcome the West Brisbane Panthers, on the opposite end of the 20-8 scoreline.
