Rising star Seth Nikotemo feels he now knows what it means to be a Queenslander.
A proud product of the the Gold Coast's Future Titans program since he was 15, the Burleigh Bears junior attended the QRL's Emerging Under 18 Origin camp at the weekend, learning from the best of the best to further develop his game to help his chance to play NRL in the future.
"It was a good experience with heaps of hard training. I learned heaps about what it means to be a Queenslander," Nikotemo said.
"It was just good to be with heaps of boys from all around the state."
Entrenched in the blue and gold system for the last three years, the 18-year-old feels his selection to attend the developing Maroons camp is thanks to being part of the Future Titans, helping continue to grow in skill through high level training and games whilst in the program.
"We've learned heaps and I've been here since I was 15," Nikotemo said.
"The Titans have been a big help in my journey to get into that camp. My favourite part is getting to put on the jersey and play for the club.
"Heaps of boys that I grew up playing with around Gold Coast... we're all here now together training and it's just a real good opportunity for all of us to take the next step."
Looking ahead to the future, the barnstorming back-rower's goal this year is to take out the Schoolboy Cup with Keebra Park, before hoping to impress Justin Holbrook and Titans coaching staff to earn a train-and-trial opportunity at the end of the season.
"My goal is to take it out this year for school being my last year at school and we've got a good team to do it, so hopefully we can take that," Nikotemo said.
"As well as playing for the Titans, my next goal with represent footy is making the Under 19s team to play New South Wales."
