It is back to the future for Titans duo Tanah Boyd and Dave Fifita with the pair combining on the Titans left edge on Saturday night.
In a new look side, the entire left side had a makeover for Saturday night's derby, with Boyd and Fifita joining the returning Phil Sami and debutant Jojo Fifita to make up a dynamic left flank.
Although they didn't get the two points there was a lot to like about the Titans side and the new combinations.
Boyd scored the opener for the night, debutant Fifita was impressive in his first hitout and Phil Sami was millimetres from snatching the matchwinner for his side.
Boyd told media earlier today that his side was buoyed by the effort but know they need to keep improving to convert the efforts into wins.
"We definitely put a step forward but we need to get better in those little moments going forward," Boyd said.
"I think we are getting tighter (as a group), especially after the weekend's performance.
"It is obviously tough on us but at the end of the day we are training really hard and we are all trying to come together and we are still loving coming to training and being around each other still...but we have just got to keep trying to get better and find a way to win."
On his own move back into the halves Boyd said he felt comfortable with the switch.
"I played all my juniors (in the halves), so it comes pretty natural and it felt comfortable on the weekend," he said.
"Anything to help us out, I'll do it.
"Last year I did a lot with Toby (Sexton) and Boothy (Aaron) slotting in was really good, because he calmed us down a bit and I felt that I complemented Sexy a bit, but there is obviously still a lot of improvement there."
If Titans fans want to see what may be possible with this new-look left edge, they need look no further then some highlights of the Tanah Boyd-Dave Fifita combination from their successful stint together at Keebra Park State High, where the pair won the national championships in 2017.
"It is obviously good getting back with Dave, I feel comfortable playing with him, it is just natural and we have that combination already," Boyd enthused.
"Hopefully we can keep building and trying help the team get a result."
And what did Boyd make of the big crowd and debutant Jojo Fifita?
"He was unbelievable. I was so happy with Jojo," he said.
"Just the way he handles himself, his carries out of yardage and how he defended.
"Our Members and fans are great and it was definitely good to see such a big crowd - they are always sticking by us.
"It brought a smile to my face when I saw all our fans when we ran out.
"I can't thank our fans enough for sticking by us and hopefully they keep doing it."
