The Gold Coast Titans have finalised their top-30 squad, with a local junior added to the full-time squad for the rest of the season in line with the NRL’s August 1 deadline.
Exciting backrower Klese Haas will take the squad position, with the youngster initially planning on joining the squad full-time for the 2023 pre-season.
His arrival has been brought forward thanks to some impressive performances throughout 2022 for Titans affiliate club Tweed Seagulls.
The 19-year-old made his Hostplus Cup debut this season, playing three games for the Seagulls, while he has also shone in his development year as part of the QRL’s Hastings Deering Colts competition.
Haas is a graduate of the Future Titans System.
Titans Coach Justin Holbrook says Klese is another example of the Titans pathway programs working to keep talented young players on the Coast.
“Klese is an exciting prospect and we’ve identified that from a young age,” he said.
“He has impressed in our trial match earlier this season and he has further developed through the year in his time with Tweed.
“Klese was to join our squad for 2023, but he’ll now fill that final roster spot for the remainder of this year which is great that we can get him into the program full-time straight away.”
