Round 1 team: Four fresh faces to debut as Titans seek NRLW finals revenge

Four fresh faces will don Gold Coast Titans colours for the first time in the club's opening NRLW clash of the new season, up against the St George Illawarra Dragons in Wollongong.

After being knocked out by the Red V in the 2021 semi-finals earlier this year, there is plenty of motivation for new coach Karyn Murphy and her side to start the new campaign on a high, seeking revenge on the very team who stopped the Titans playing in the big dance in their maiden season.

One of the new faces for the Gold Coast is Madison Bartlett - who stood on the opposite side of the field the last time these two teams met - moving north and changing colours over the off-season to line-up on the wing.

Marquee signing Lauren Brown will make her club debut in the halves, joining forces with Kimiora Breayley-Nati as the playmakers; whilst Apii Nicholls assumes fullback duties in her first outing, allowing Evania Pelite plenty of room to move in the outside backs.

Damaging forward Rona Peters makes her awaited NRLW return via the interchange bench, last playing in 2019 up the road for the Brisbane Broncos.

The Titans' 2022 season will kick-off at 12pm on Sunday at WIN Stadium.
