Klese Haas isn't afraid to admit he endured plenty of nerves ahead of his first NRL Match in Gold Coast Titans colours.
But nothing can supersede the feeling the 20-year-old encountered the moment the full-time siren rang out at Cbus Super Stadium, with the home crowd roaring to celebrate the emphatic victory against the Knights.
"I was so nervous," the latest Titans debutant admitted.
"I think I had like two vomits and a couple of trips to the toilet like an hour out from the game.
"I was just really nervous and my mum was telling me to calm down, but I just couldn't.
"But the game was really good and as soon as that siren went, I remember just Macca (Sam McIntyre) coming out to me and telling me we had won and all the boys just came out to me saying we did it.
"Then just going into the crowd and seeing how happy they were after the win was really good."
Still on cloud nine from the experience, the Gold Coast junior still can't quite put into words what it felt like to run out on the field for the first.
"It was crazy... just a massive buzz. I don't know how to explain it to be honest," Haas said.
"I was trying to think of words to explain to my mum but just unreal is the one that comes to mind.
"When running on, I just couldn't help but smile just looking around."
Making the transition to NRL a little easier has been fellow Titans big man David Fifita who has shared a similar journey to Haas in his progression o first grade - playing junior reps, Cup and NRL all in the same year.
"The one that's helped me a lot is Davey," Haas shared.
"He's been offering me advice like when you run this line, go there, or when you're defending, just keep moving.
"Also just reminding me not to think that I'm not supposed to be here. Telling me I'm here for a reason and they've chosen me for a reason and to be confident in myself.
"It's been really good to learn off one of the best back rowers in the game."
Never having travelled further than Sydney, the exciting edge forward has been named to play in New Zealand against the Warriors, having to make a mad dash to make sure his documentation is in order to make the trip across the ditch, never expecting to make his NRL debut let alone go overseas.
"It's been pretty surreal because I thought I was just going to have my debut game and then go back to Tweed to finish off the year strong, but then they came to me before captain's run last week and asked if I had my passport ready," Haas said.
"It's just been so crazy... a whirlwind I guess."
