The Gold Coast Titans have welcomed two new members to its top 24 NRLW squad after both Tazmin Gray and Emily Curtain were ruled out of the 2022 season due to injury.
Development players Sophie Buller and Felila Kia have both been promoted ahead of the final regular game of the season, which will make them available for selection as early as next week should the Titans be finals-bound.
Buller - a versatile and mobile lock - played in all eight games for Burleigh in this year's BMD Premiership, scoring four tries and making a mark in the Queensland competition at just 21 years of age.
The success in 2022 was equally the same for Kia, playing Harvey Norman Under 19s before moving up to the BMD Premiership in Round 4, scoring a try in four consecutive appearances.
The centre / edge forward was also an asset for Queensland in the Under 19 State of Origin clash earlier this year.
Titans coach Karyn Murphy was pleased to deliver the news this week after watching both players put in the hard work at training across this NRLW season.
"It's been really rewarding for us to be able to promote two of our development players this week. They've done the hard hard work along with the rest of the top 24 squad, so it was really pleasing to be able to let them know that we've elevated them to the top 24," Murphy said.
"Unfortunately Emily Curtain and Tazmin Gray are not able to play again this year with the injuries that they had, so they've been a huge loss for us.
"But equally, that's why we have these development players and it was really good to let them know that we've brought them in."
