Tino Fa'asuamaleaui well and truly led from the front in his first season as the Gold Coast Titans captain.
That being his goal to have that leadership style with the 'c' next to his name, it's indisputable he was one of the key heart and soul members of the playing group in 2022.
Already having claimed Paul Broughton Medal honours last year, the 22-year-old Queensland and likely soon-to-be Australian forward is a good chance of going back-to-back on the Coast's night of nights after finishing in the top four finalists, thanks to an inspirational performance all season.

A true highlight of his 2022 season, Fa'asuamaleaui finished the year with the third highest running metres average of any forward in the NRL competition with 160 metres a game.
He also ended the regular season in the top 10 with total run metres, including three games he smashed the 200 mark.
As well as finishing high in the running metres tally, Fa'asuamaleaui was fourth in the NRL for post-contact metres and this was also a huge pinnacle of his 2022 season. His ability to bend the line and constantly beat the first line of defence was a key asset to his game and an element that was feared by the opposition.

Round 24 v Knights
Back at Cbus Super Stadium for Members' Round, it was only fitting this was the captain's best game of the season. Leading his side to victory with only 12 men for the remaining 30 minutes of the game, it was a Herculean effort from the front rower to help his side get the job done over the Newcastle Knights.
Playing all 80 minutes in the middle, Fa'asuamaleaui finished the game topping the run metres tally (257) and tackle count (35), as well as coming up with a try assist, line break assist and a whopping 188 post-contact metres to well and truly put his side on the front foot in the contest.
