World Cup: What's still to come in Week 1

One final match involving Titans will play out in the opening week, with an almighty battle between teammates when Papua New Guinea and Tonga lock horns on Wednesday morning.

Powerful forwards David Fifita and Moeaki Fotuaika will line-up for the Mate Ma'a meanwhile, Jacob Alick is set to run out in the No. 13 jersey for the Kumuls.

It's been a successful start to the World Cup campaign for all of the Gold Coast Titans stars in action, with Australia, Ireland and New Zealand all winning their first matches of the tournament.

The Kangaroos will next play Scotland next Saturday morning (4.30am AEST), the Kiwis take on Jamaica on Sunday morning (4.30am AEST) and the Wolfhounds square off against Lebanon on Sunday night (11.30pm AEST).

Earlier...

An impressive start by both Australia and England has set the benchmark for the rest of the competition at the opening night of the Rugby League World Cup.

But, there's still plenty to come... including seeing six more Gold Coast stars in action after a formidable Kangaroos debut by skipper Tino Fa'asuamaleaui in their 42-8 win over Fiji to open the green and gold campaign.

Three more matches will play out on Sunday night / early Monday morning with Titans fans keeping a keen eye on both the Jamaica versus Ireland clash and New Zealand's affair against Lebanon.

Jaimin Jolliffe has been named to start in the front row for the Wolfhounds, proudly representing his grandmother - who is of Irish descent - when he takes the field at Emerald Headingley Stadium in Leeds at 2am (AEST) on Monday morning against the Reggae Warriors.

Meanwhile; the following game in Warrington at 4.30am (AEST) will see incoming Titan Kieran Foran given the chance to impress in the halves, being elevated to start in place of Jahrome Hughes who has succumbed to an upper leg injury.
