Kieran Foran isn't officially due to arrive at Parkwood until early January, but the experienced recruit has shown he means business with a few surprise visits to meet and train with his new teammates.
Calling the Gold Coast home for at least the next two seasons, the seasoned playmaker is set to provide plenty of insight and guidance to the Titans' young spine as well as help to bring maiden premiership success for his new club.
Whilst it's unclear the precise role the 32-year-old will play in 2023, he will bring 262 NRL games of knowledge to his new colours, to which has excited a number of his teammates who will work closely with him; including AJ Brimson, who was lucky enough to spend some one-on-one time with the new recruit recently to pick his brain.
"He's seems like a really good fella. I dropped him home the other day, so we had a 45 minute car ride where we could just chat about where we've gone wrong the last few seasons and what we're going to change. He's been really good," Brimson said earlier this month.
"I grew up watching him and I'm super stoked to be playing with him. I think he's going to bring just as much off-field as he will on-field, so I'm pretty keen to learn off him."
Kieran Foran's first interview as a Titan
Another fellow Titan eager to absorb some of Foran's expertise is Toby Sexton, who can't wait to continually get advice from the Kiwi International as he continues to grow as a young playmaker.
"He'll be unreal and I think that's the biggest thing, just having an experience half I can turn to when when I need to, whether it's for any advice or just about footy in general," he said.
"He's won premierships, he's played for his country, he's done everything in the game and he's coming to our club which is going to be a massive factor for myself and all the other halves.
"I'm really keen to learn off him."
Being that senior figurehead is a role Foran is happy to play at Parkwood, sharing his desire to pass on his knowledge to the young squad in order to have a successful season and improve on the past few years.
"That’s why I feel I’ve been brought here. At the end of the day, I’ve been playing NRL for 14 seasons now and I’ve got a fair bit of experience at it now," Foran told titans.com.au.
"I think you get to a stage in your career where you understand what it’s all about. In saying that, I’m continuously learning and trying to improve myself and get better each and every season.
"If I can pass on those teachings to these young guys that are just starting their NRL careers, along with a number of guys who are in their fourth or fifth seasons, hopefully we can combine that to really nail down our roles and have a successful year."
