NRL 2023: Titans, Trial 2 team: Titans rollout big guns for historic derby against Dolphins

The Gold Coast Titans will unleash big-name recruits Kieran Foran and Sam Verrills for their historic pre-season derby clash against the NRL's newest franchise on Sunday night.

Facing the Dolphins at Kayo Stadium in the club's major trial ahead of Round 1, the highly-anticipated match will be a chance for coach Justin Holbrook to see his key off-season additions in action for the first time to help lock-in the top 17 for the season opener.

Five other Titans will join Foran and Verrills in their first appearance of the year for the club; with AJ Brimson to play at fullback, Isaac Liu to start at lock and Tino Fa'asuamaleaui resuming captaincy duties in the front row.

Tanah Boyd has retained the No. 7 jersey for the contest; meanwhile, Jaimin Jolliffe has been rewarded with a starting jersey for the contest after notching up an incredible 213 running metres across two stints against the Broncos.

Up against a number of former Titans including Jarrod Wallace, Herman Ese'ese and Jamayne Isaako; there will plenty of extra motivation to get the job done in the final pre-season hit-out before Round 1 and kick-start the club's newest Queensland rivalry with a win in the bank.
