Getting things going with a scintillating Alofiana Khan-Pereira hat-trick in the opening 15 minutes, the boys in blue continued to put the foot down across the entire 80 minutes, setting the team up with plenty of confidence for Round 1 in a fortnight's time against the Tigers at Leichhardt Oval.
Here are the six biggest talking points from Trial 2 between the Titans and Dolphins:
1. History made
It was a night to remember at Kayo Stadium with the Titans putting on a masterclass against Queensland’s newest NRL franchise to kick-start the new rivalry.
Match highlights: Titans v Dolphins
Leading five tries to one at the break, the Gold Coast continued to pile on the points in the second stanza to win the first match against the Dolphins 40-16.
It won't be long before the pair lock horns again, this time officially - with the Titans to travel to Suncorp and face the Dolphins in Round 8.

2. Defence dominates
With a heavy focus on defence during the pre-season, the Titans put their hard work on show in the first opening 25 minutes with an impressive 93 percent efficiency.
Ending the game with a large number of youngsters, they continued to maintain the rage, finishing with an 88 percent tackle efficiency.
Leading they way with the tackle count in the contest was Sam Verrills (33), Isaac Liu (23), Jaimin Jolliffe (22), David Fifita (22) and Beau Fermor (21).
3. Electrifying Alofiana
It might only be trials but it's incredible to think Khan-Pereira already has six tries to his name after adding another four four-pointers to his impressive tally on Sunday night.
Scoring 25 tries in last year's Hostplus Cup season, the 21-year-old has all but likely iced a Titans jersey with his name on it, getting another 40 minutes to show what he can produce... finishing the night with a first half hat-trick.
Khan-Pereira gets four
Adding to his delightful double in last Sunday's Broncos trial, the quick-fire first half trifecta came in a 10-minute flurry which set the Titans up for the game, and he added further points in his second stint in the 68th minute to top off an amazing four-try haul to finish his hard days' work.
4. Jolliffe takes off where left off
Jaimin Jolliffe took off where he left off against the Broncos with an incredible opening stint against the Dolphins starting pack to help secure him a top 13 jersey in Round 1.
In the 26-year-old’s opening 26 minutes on the field, he topped the charts with 109 running metres, which included two tackle breaks in his 10 runs.
He was also quality in defence, making 11 tackles with a crisp 100% tackle efficiency in the same stint.
His efforts alongside skipper Tino Fa'asuamaleaui helped dominate the middle third for most of the contest, especially in the opening 25 minutes when the pair worked in tandem to motor up the field.
5. Foran and Verrills
They were the two most talked about recruits for the Titans over the off-season and boy, didn't they deliver on opening night.
The 262-game playmaker was in the thick of it from the get go with his mitts all over the first try, coming up with the floating cut-out pass to Khan-Pereira to draw first blood in the contest.

He continued on with his brilliance with a line break and two tackle breaks as he played a solid 60 minutes on the left edge, setting himself nicely for his first official game in a fortnight.
For Verrills, he added plenty of spark in at No. 9, finishing his first stint in Titans colours with 33 tackles in the middle, alongside 52 metres and three tackle breaks in attack.
