The Gold Coast Titans celebrated more than just a victory on Saturday afternoon at Cbus Super Stadium, with the club's first iteration of 'NRL Multicultural Round' held on home turf.
The concept was in its second season and across the league NRL sides embraced their diversity - no more so than as the Titans took on the Storm on a sweltering Gold Coast afternoon.
The theme for this year's round was 'stronger together' and leads into Harmony Week in Australia, which begins today and concludes on 26 March. More info here
The Titans have long-embraced both their Pasifika and Indigenous heritages and this round allowed the club to extend upon that.
Events across the day included;
- Multicultural Ambassador event pre-game.
- A citizenship ceremony held pre-game. The first of its kind for the NRL.
- Players arriving in traditional dress of their heritage.
- Players running onto the field sporting flags of their heritage.
- Fans dressed up in traditional dress.
- Traditional and cultural dancers on ground and across the precinct.
