A dominant player of the match performance by Jacob Alick has helped the Burleigh Bears to a commanding 46-20 win over Papua New Guinea to claim the Kokoda Cup.
The 23-year-old Titans-contracted back-rower was pivotal in his role on the edge, making 168 metres, three tackle breaks, two line breaks, a try assist and even claimed a four-pointer of his own in the Saturday afternoon contest at UAA Park.
He was also instrumental in defence, making 18 tackles at an impeccable 100 percent efficiency in his 80 minute stint.
Shooting out to a quick-fire 26-0 lead after only 18 minutes, the Hunters clawed their way back to be with two converted tries of the home side, before they put the foot down to ice the game and bounce back from their last-start loss and remain in the top four.
