Affiliate wrap: Jets takedown sets up top of the table showdown

A 54-point demolition of the Ipswich Jets has setup a mouth-watering top of the table clash between the Burleigh Bears and Souths Logan Magpies at Cbus Super Stadium next Saturday.

Cementing first position after taking down the Jets in a comprehensive display, the successful outing was spearheaded by a Tony Francis hat-trick with the Titans youngster playing a big role on the wing in their 54-0 beating of Ipswich to notch up their sixth-straight win in the Hostplus Cup, only having lost the one game so far in their run to the premiership.

They'll next face the Souths Logan Magpies who sit one win below the Gold Coast affiliate after holding off the fast-finishing Western Clydesdales in their respective match on Sunday.

What is shaping up to be a scintillating showdown, it is set to provide the perfect matinee to the Titans' Round 14 clash against the South Sydney Rabbitohs at Cbus Super Stadium - the curtain-raiser kicking off just after 3pm.

In the other Hostplus Cup match featuring a number of Titans, despite the return of Klese Haas, Joe Vuna and Kruise Leeming to the Tweed Seagulls to gain some extra minutes in the legs, they went down at home in the 'flockbuster' against Wynnum Manly 38-18.

They'll head to Papua New Guinea next week to face the Hunters on Saturday.
