Milestone men: The special occasions still to come

Fresh from celebrating Phil Sami's 100th NRL appearance in style - dominating the Tigers at home last Thursday - a number of other Titans are on track to reach significant milestones later this season.

See below for the list of upcoming occasions for a number of Gold Coast stars:

Joe Stimson

100 NRL games - Round 18 v Raiders

Joe Stimson is set to bring up his 100th NRL game in Round 18 against the Tigers after joining the Titans following stints at both the Storm and Bulldogs.

Having made his debut in Round 2, 2017; the 27-year-old played 51 games in Melbourne before moving to Canterbury in 2020, ahead of his shift north to the Coast at the start of this season.

Having played every game of the 2023 season thus far, if he continues this trend, it will be a fitting location for his NRL century to bring up the milestone in Canberra given he was born and raised in Temora - only 200km from the nation's capital.

David Fifita

100 NRL games - Round 20 v Eels

Already celebrating a special milestone earlier this season by celebrating his half century of games in Titans colours, the hulking forward is eyeing off his 100th NRL appearance later this season should he play every game in the lead-up to Round 20.

Making his mark since 2018 with 44 games for the Broncos before trekking down the M1, the 23-year-old has played 95 games currently as he prepares to don the maroon for Origin II in Brisbane.

Although, should he continue his representation for Queensland, there is the likelihood of the barnstorming back-rower missing Round 19 against the Dolphins due to Origin duties, which will allow Fifita to run out at home in Round 21 against the Roosters for his first grade century.

AJ Brimson

100 NRL games - Round 24 v Sharks

Hoping to bring up his 100th NRL game within a few weeks of long-time teammate and close friend Phil Sami, a number of recent hamstring injuries will now see the Prince of Palm Beach bring up his century later this season should he feature in every game leading up to Round 24.

Making his debut in Round 10, 2018 against the Storm, the 24-year-old has now notched up 92 games in first grade - all for the Titans - and will eye off his triple figure milestone against Cronulla at Shark Park.

But there's no disputing the Titans Legion will fill the stands of Cbus Super Stadium and continue celebrations the following week as the Coast face off against the Panthers to celebrate Brimson's 101st game in the NRL.

Aaron Schoupp

50 NRL games - Round 25 v Panthers

Aaron Schoupp is on track to bring up his 50th NRL appearance at a none more fitting place than the ground he made his debut at - Cbus Super Stadium.

Starting his career with the Bulldogs in 2021 and playing 32 games for Canterbury across two seasons, the 21-year-old made the switch to the Coast for the next three seasons with the outside back likely to bring up his first milestone against Penrith should he play every game in the lead-up to Round 25.

Chris Randall

50 NRL games - Round 26 v Storm

Coming to the Titans from Newcastle to help fill the dummy-half stocks, Chris Randall's trade to the Coast has proven to be a masterstroke given Sam Verrills recent injury, with the 27-year-old filling in admirably in the No. 9 jersey this season.

With Verrills having now returned, should Randall continue as a very valuable utility of the bench with his ability to play at both hooker and lock, he will bring up his 50th NRL game in Round 26 in Melbourne after previously playing 29 games for the Knights.

Brian Kelly

100 Titans games - Finals Week 1

Brian Kelly will be on track to bring up his 100th Titans appearance should the Coast continue to strive to feature in this year's finals series and Kelly play in every game in the lead-up to week one of the playoffs.

The Ballina Seagulls junior began his career with the Manly Sea Eagles in 2017, before moving back home and has played a majority of his career with the Titans, now spanning 135 games.
