He has long been a cult hero on the Gold Coast and Anthony Don will once again grace the Cbus Super Stadium turf in one week's time as part of the Titans All Stars v Dolphins All Stars game at Cbus Super Stadium ahead of the NRL match.
Don is one of a host of Titans star, former Origin players and premiership winners who will be taking part in the charity match to raise funds for injured Future Titans and Redcliffe Dolphins junior Joseph Pouniu.
Don's support for Pouniu has been immense, including today having completed his first ever Gold Coast Marathon to drive awareness and funds to help support Joseph in his recovery and the support from the Titans legend won't stop there.
The Titans fan favourite completed his first ever marathon in 3 hours, 37 minutes and 42 seconds, showing he is still in premium condition.
Next Sunday Don will strap the boots on again and play in the curtain raiser to the Titans and Dolphins NRL clash and you could be playing along side the Titans leading all time try scorer.
Don joins Origin stars Dallas Johnson, Chris Walker, Brad Meyers and Matt Geyer in the match.
The 20-minute touch rugby league match will be played prior to the NRL action on Sunday 9th July.
Preston Campbell, Nathan Friend, Jack Stockwell, Corey Thompson, Danny Nutley and Shane Perry are among the other former Titans and Dolphins players who you could be playing alongside.
Who is Joseph?
Earlier this year, Joseph suffered a serious spinal cord injury during a High Performance Gold Coast Titans U17 rugby league game against the Brisbane Broncos on Saturday 28/01/23. Joe, as known by most, was treated on the field by the club doctor and paramedics before being transported to the Princess Alexandra Hospital Emergency Department in Brisbane to treat his catastrophic spinal injury. Joe underwent immediate surgery to stabilise his neck and reattach his c4 and c5 to his spine. Despite the surgery, Joe has suffered major damage to his spinal cord and now faces an enormous battle to be able to regain any movement from his shoulders down. Discover more.
