Phil Sami has opened up on the honesty session he and his Titans teammates had on Tuesday to help them get back on track and snap a four-game losing streak when they face the Cowboys.
After being on the wrong side of narrow losses against the Raiders, Dolphins and Eels in consecutive weeks to start the month, the Gold Coast delivered one of their most disappointing showings of the season against the tricolours, with the 104-game flyer conceding it was a performance the playing group weren't proud of.
In order to help rewrite the wrongs on display at the weekend, the Titans flyer has revealed they held a circle of truth at the beginning of training on Tuesday to help outline the areas of their game they need to improve ahead of Sunday's encounter against North Queensland.
"I guess everyone was just being honest with each other and where we're at. It was a whole group review and everyone was being honest, so it was good," Sami said.
"It was a disappointing loss on the weekend against the Roosters and we're obviously not proud of what we did on Saturday.
"We're just trying to stay high spirited and just keep working hard as we have these last four weeks."

Despite the tough month for his team, the 25-year-old has been in blistering personal form, averaging 170 run metres per game in 2023 - including six games over 200 run metres - as well as recently notching up his 50th career try for the club, the fourth Titan to achieve such accolade.
Sharing his disappointment not to have been selected for Queensland after missing out due to the sheer depth of talent in the outside backs, Sami wants to just continue the small tweaks he's made off the field to continue his strong showing in the NRL.
Especially with a chance to face off against fellow Maroons winger Murray Taulagi in this weekend's contest.
"It was a goal of mine to play rep footy again, but I can only control what I can control and that's trying to play consistent footy week-in, week-out," he said.
"I got a lot of competition in front of me and the boys that got picked deserved to be there.
"I'm just going to keep looking after my body off the field. These last few years I've been putting a focus on just being fit and making sure I'm putting the right things in my body.
"That's helped me along the way... I'm enjoying life and I'm just really happy at the moment."
The flyer will also have extra motivation in this weekend's clash at Cbus Super Stadium, with the Titans joining the NRL in celebrating Women in League Round - the Gold Coast back wanting to thank both his partner Chloe and mum for their contribution in his rugby league career progression.
"I want to make a special shout out to my mum and Chloe... thank you for everything you do for me," Sami said.
