Round 2 team: Schoolgirl sensation gets second chance as trio face former club

Sienna Lofipo will have more than a minute's notice to prepare to face the Broncos with the young gun named to partner Chantay Kiria-Ratu in the halves for this Thursday's local derby.

Making her sudden debut as the 18th player in the second half of last weekend's victory against the Cowboys, the former Australian Schoolgirls No. 7 is expected to be the only change in Karyn Murphy's line-up for Round 2 after Taliah Fuimaono suffered an ankle injury in the season opener - although the Jillaroos star will be given every chance to prove her fitness ahead of kick-off.

Lofipo's promotion to the starting line-up sees Rilee Jorgensen with the replacement player duties for the clash in the only change on the reserves from last Saturday.

The clash at The Gabba will also be the first time trio Jaime Chapman, Emily Bass and Kaitlyn Phillips face their former club since moving to the Titans - joining fellow teammates Brittany Breayley-Nati, Lauren Brown, Zara Canfield, Jess Elliston, Steph Hancock and Shannon Mato as previous Broncos representatives.

Adding to many of the motivators to get the two points will be the disappointment from the last time the Gold Coast squared off against Brisbane - going down 22-4 at Redcliffe in season 2022 - the ledger now one-all after the Titans' iconic victory in the inaugural clash between the two South East Queensland combatants.

Kick-off is at 5.40pm on Thursday at The Gabba, Brisbane.
