Mino-Sinapati relishing return of Chapman to strengthen first-year growth

Back in her debut position on the wing, Destiny Mino-Sinapati will be a force to be reckoned with as she partners the returning Jaime Chapman on the edge for this week's all-important clash against the Dragons.

After scoring in her first game on the flank, the 18-year-old is grateful for another opportunity to partner with the strength and experience of the International after having to fill her shoes last week against the star-studded Roosters.

“I was grateful for the opportunity to come up against one of the best centres in the game in Jess Sergis – it was a learning curve, but I’ve been given lots of feedback," Mino-Sinapati told titans.com.au.

Mino-Sinapati loves scoring at home

The young gun has played all but one game this season after making the giant leap from Under 19s to playing in the BMD Premiership with the Wynnum Manly Seagulls before joining the NRLW squad; the physical strength and game smarts of the competition's players being the main differences.

Although having earned a recall last week, the rookie took some important learnings after her week on the sidelines in Round 4 against the Knights.

“Missing that game was a good time to earn my spot back," Mino-Sinapati said.

"I learnt that every week you have to keep putting in the effort and keep doing the one percenters as your spot isn’t guaranteed”

Coming up against the Dragons this week at home will be another good opportunity for the combination of the left edge to test themselves and continue to build as the girls look to consolidate their position inside the top four.

"We’ve done our preview and had a look at their structures... we need to shut them down early," Mino-Sinapati.

After this weekend, the Titans have two of their last three games at home at Cbus Super Stadium and although grateful for any opportunity to play, Mino-Sinapati calls playing in front of a home Gold Coast crowd a dream come true, especially having the local young kids look up to her.
