Elliston believes completion rate key to turning the tide against Red V

Coming off back-to-back losses, the Titans are heading into enemy territory this Saturday where they look to change the tides and get back on track against the Dragons.

Gold Coast local and Titans inaugural NRLW player of the year Jessika Elliston insists the key to the Titans turning the corner is keeping ball in hand.

“We have one of the lowest completion rates at the moment, which that’s going to lose us games as it is," she told SENQ's Morning with Ben Davis.

“The points that we were scoring were with horrible competition rates, but we were still scoring points.

"If we can get ourselves together and if we can keep our hands on the ball and complete those sets, we will look like a totally different team again.”

Searching for redemption, excitement surrounds the group as they look to secure their fourth win of the season heading down south.

Reflecting back on the past fortnight, Elliston described the two losses as one of the best things that have happened so far this season.

“If you go on a high and are winning games quite easily, you can take your foot off the pedal," Elliston said.

"While having the two losses sucks and dropping down to fourth on the ladder, it has forced us to reflect on our game."

A couple of injuries to crucial players throughout the season have forced the side into changes at times, however this week's reintroduction of Jaime Chapman will prove integral in the Titans performing well.

“Chappo brings a different running game in the centres... she just makes metres from nowhere," Elliston said.

The Titans will go into the game as favourites, but Elliston knows the Dragons will come out firing with that underdog, go hard energy - particularly with the opposition spearheaded by 2022 Dally M medallist Raecene McGregor.

“She is a massive threat and one of the best halves in the game," she said.

"You can’t take her lightly. Whatever team Rae’s in, you know that they are going to show up and she’ll control that side very well.”
